A perfectly balanced play of muted shades of blush pink, rich cream and pale green, together with soft textures and refined materials are what set Madhu and Pallavi’s home apart. Pastel palettes are trending, and this opulent Hyderabad home curates and captures their subtle beauty to create a sense of serene sophistication. The clients opted for sleek, minimal furniture with elegant detailing in gold – and all the spaces have been designed with this understated, cohesive visual connect.

HomeLane Designer Harish had his work cut out for him – the clients were very specific about the look they wanted to achieve and would settle for nothing less. An uncluttered and minimal design was paramount; but not one that was so minimal as to end up looking stark and cold. Harish achieved this by creating spaces that layer patterns and prints on a background of muted, delicate pastels. Beautifully articulated details and creative applications of materials and finishes evoke mellow and delicate visuals, each with its own touch of class.

We’re here to share the details of how this amazing transformation came to life! Let’s take a walk through Madhu and Pallavi’s lovely home.

Harish has made the best use of jail partition walls to segregate open-plan spaces without cutting visual sight lines. Here, a brushed gold partition in the foyer affords enchanting glimpses of the living room beyond.

The sleek entertainment unit in white with gold detailing features functional soft-close drawers and floating ledges for the display of artefacts. Cleverly designed spotlights create a gentle glow, making sure that display pieces are showcased to perfection. The television is mounted on a backlit marble backdrop that matches the flooring.

To one side of the unit, fluted pale pink verticals create a unique visual effect.

Soothing shades of pink and dove grey make the master bedroom a haven of relaxation. The contemporary styled wardrobe features floor-to-ceiling sliding shutters in high-gloss acrylic, each panel framed in delicate gold. The furnishings and upholstered bed echo the same colour combinations, creating a tranquil sanctuary where the busy young couple can unwind and relax.

High-end sliding door tracks enable soft-close finishes that are air-tight, ensuring that the contents of the wardrobe are protected from dust and humidity.

Madhu and Pallavi have chosen furnishings, wall colours and ceiling finishes that blend in with the colours in the room for a sense of continuity. On the wall opposite the wardrobe, the work desk extends out into a low dressing table with ample storage drawers for her dressing and make-up essentials.

The U-shaped kitchen uses a lovely colour pairing of grey and white for a clean, chic look that is stylish and functional, all at once! Grey is the perfect neutral and can be easily combined with a wide range of other colours, allowing for endless possibilities when it comes to accent pieces and decor. Built-in appliances are thoughtfully placed, making meal prep, cooking and clean-up a breeze. The tall pantry unit offers plenty of space for weekly groceries.

In the upper run of cabinets, double-hinged lift-up hinges make it very easy to store and access heavy items. The shutters stay open when in use, adding convenience to utility.

The fine Italian marble look-alike backsplash, running all the way to the loft, adds to the luxe look in the kitchen. While marble is not easy to maintain in a kitchen due to its porous nature, this tiled finish is super-easy to wipe clean and does not stain. The lustrous white quartz countertop is utilitarian and enhances the lovely finishes in the room.

A sleek row of loft cabinets in white seamlessly blends into the background, lending an air of airy lightness to the kitchen design. The peninsular breakfast counter visually divides the open kitchen from the dining space, allowing for a quick bite or a cup of coffee on the go. Tall bar stools can be pulled up to the counter when in use.

Extensive use of mirrors, glass, metal and high-gloss reflective surfaces throughout the home elevates the air of underlying opulence. In the crockery unit just outside the kitchen, the upper run of cabinets is faced in gold – a deliberate choice that blends beautifully with the dainty rose-tinted cabinets below.

To one side of the crockery unit, a rose gold finished mirror with criss-cross bevelled panels ties the look together, throwing reflections of the modern pooja unit on the opposite wall. Recessed strip lights in the ceiling and a modern chandelier with warm lighting enhance the metallic accents in the room.

Drawers easily glide in and out at the touch of a finger; telescopic channels and push-to-open fittings have been used at Madhu’s behest. The hardware revokes the need to use handles, making the exterior surfaces sleek and streamlined in appearance.

The guest room, dressed in subtle cream and grey with gold accents, is so pretty that we’re sure that Pallavi’s guests will never want to leave! The padded upholstered bed incorporates two deep drawers at the foot to store extra bed linen and pillows.
