Redefining Luxury with a Laid-Back Lifestyle

By - June 21, 2024

Bhanu and Disha love to do everything together; so much so, they tell us, that they are together 24*7! So, when they wanted their home interior designed, there was one important criterion – it had to reflect their lifestyle and encapsulate everything that they love.

“When we planned this house, we thought of it as our own little world. We should be able to spend any number of hours inside the house, be away from everything else, and be content! We do pretty much everything together…and so, we thought of creating a nook where we can relax and have coffee, a space where we can cook together, and so on,” says Disha, laughing when she adds, “We both love to cook, and while he does most of the cooking, I only help him!”

HomeLane designer Sukhpreet ticked all the right boxes when it came to bringing their vision to life. A masterpiece of collaborative design, this lovely Hyderabad villa is a celebration of everything they hold dear to their hearts. Bright and airy, with a deliberately neutral colour scheme, the simple narration of this charming villa is perfectly suited to a laidback lifestyle.  Functionally as well as aesthetically, this home juxtaposes low-key shades with pretty patterns and muted textures, beautifully falling in line with the clients’ brief.

Here’s a glimpse of this lovely couple’s beautiful home!

Talking about the living spaces, Disha says, “We were lucky to work with a very talented designer, who gave life to our ideas. Whatever we suggested to her, she was able to instantly match our wavelength and give us ideas we loved. Each and every part of the house is designed in such a way that it is soothing and relaxing, in fact, this house will tell you about our lifestyle!”

The living room is divided into two spaces – the foyer, with its own cream-coloured plush sofas, is segregated from the family space by an ornate metal partition painted in white. Disha loves plants, and a profusion of greens, from succulents to ferns, finds its way into every corner of her home.

The family room is done up in warm, earthy colours against a backdrop of muted grey. The contemporary entertainment centre features an easy mix of open cabinets and floating display shelves, done up in a timeless, enduring white and wood combo. The wallpaper in a graphic grey and white print adds dynamic pattern to the low-key theme. The floating ceiling incorporates hidden LED strip lights that cast a warm glow.

The walk-in wardrobe adjacent to the en-suite master bedroom, finished in the same wood and white colour pairing, packs in ample wardrobe space for the couple’s clothes and other accessories. Drawers that open to the outside allow easy access to shoes, belts and other essentials, while the loft holds items that need not be accessed frequently. A tall, full-length mirror comes in handy when getting dressed for the day. Spotlights in the ceiling and lights above the mirror are both functional and practical.

In the children’s room, the loft bed above the conventional queen-sized bed injects a dose of fun, while offering additional utility at the same time! The peppy pairing of chrome yellow and white oak adds a delightful touch. This stylish and space-saving idea works well when the family has extended family coming to spend the night.

The three-door wardrobe is both versatile and practical, featuring sliding shutters in yellow and oak, with a loft that runs all the way to the ceiling and provides extra storage. The simple, sleek modular design maximises storage within a compact footprint. With chic, cool bed linens, this bedroom works well for both children and adults!

The couple loves to try out new dishes in their state-of-the-art contemporary island kitchen. Calm and restrained, this spacious open kitchen is done up in a mix of white and grey cabinetry, with designated slots for utensils, crockery and cutlery. While meal prep happens on the central island, the L-shaped counter houses a host of innovative kitchen aids that make it super-easy to whip up the most delightful meals.

With clean lines and simple, streamlined silhouettes, this kitchen is all about convenience and comfort. Lift-to-open upper cabinets make it easy to store and pull out items when needed. Thoughtfully designed accessories make the most of available space, maximising storage while minimising clutter.

Summing up their experience with HomeLane, Bhanu says, “The kind of work they have executed is much better than regular carpentry work!” And as Disha is quick to add, “We approached HomeLane for a very small part of the project … but once we saw their work, we really liked it and kept adding on. Their prices are completely worth it!”

And Bhanu and Disha got it just right! The rapport they shared with designer Sukhpreet has translated into a cosy retreat filled with the warmth of their personalities.
