What does an interior designer quote include? This is a question we get asked a lot. It’s an important question, too, because we understand that you need to create a budget, arrange funds and ensure that there are no nasty surprises in terms of hidden costs along the way! Factors Affecting the Cost of Interiors
The cost of your interior will depend on a lot of factors.
- Are you planning to use any of your old furniture, or will all your furniture and furnishings be new?
- What are the material specifications and finishes that you want?
- Are you looking for traditional woodwork that is created by a carpenter, or do you want to look at modular options?
- Do you need a complete fit-out including wall paint, furniture and accessories like paintings and lighting?
- Or are you only looking to do the very basic fitted woodwork like wardrobes, kitchen cabinets and a TV unit? Do you want a false ceiling installed?
You will need to sit down with your interior designer, who will be able to guide you on a lot of these factors. You can discuss the cost implications of each item and how changing the specifications will impact your overall budget. If you feel you would like to tighten your wallet a bit, they will suggest what you could possibly put off at the beginning, and think of adding on later when you are more comfortably placed with your finances.

The Date of Validity of the Quote
Every quote will have a validity date and is liable to change after that period. This is usually two months from the date of the quote.
Interior Designer Project Summary
At the top of the quote will be a summary of the overall costs for each room. Woodwork, accessories, appliances, services and furniture costs will be calculated for each room.
Detailed Quote
The detailed quote will show you the images of all the modules selected by you so that there is no ambiguity.
Payment Options
You can get the breakup of payment options at various stages if you purchase outright, or EMI options if you decide to go down this route.
Room Summary
After this, the next few pages list out material specifications for the cabinets and the core, the shutter finish specifications and the dimensions of the finished woodwork in each room. When you are choosing any kitchen appliance for the kitchen, it is good to segregate well into different categories. This will be in line with the discussions that you have had with your designer, and what you have finalized upon after seeing samples and drawing images.
